Dear voting members of the Democratic National Committee,

We are fellow members of the Democratic Party from the great state of Wisconsin. We have seen Ben Wikler’s work in Wisconsin, and he is exactly who we need as our next chair of the DNC.

Wisconsin is a hard place to win elections— we know it first hand. People say it’s a “50-50 state.” However, as we can attest, there have been times where our odds felt much worse.

That’s because in 2010 Republicans came into power in our state in a wave. They smashed unions, suppressed voters, rigged our maps, and sought to lock in permanent control. But we are proud to say the Democratic Party in Wisconsin has clawed its way back.

How? Under Ben’s chairmanship in these last five years, Wisconsin has seen a permanent campaign where we organize and communicate year-round, in every corner of the state.

Ben has worked with each of us to unite Democrats across demographic, geographic, and ideological divides and grow our big tent by fighting in the information environment and deploying great communicators to flood the airwaves and hitting the doors with messages that resonate with working people across the state. We win by raising unprecedented resources, recruiting talented staff, and getting those resources to volunteers and campaigns on the frontlines.

As Chair, Ben has come to us and other Democrats in the state as a ready and able partner in each and every election – whether it be a State Supreme Court race, a mayoral race, or a US Senate race. He understands that the fate of working people in Wisconsin relies on Democrats’ ability to organize years in advance, while having open and transparent lines of communication with donors, partners and activists alike.

We are proud of what we have accomplished together in Wisconsin. In 2022, Governor Evers became the first Democratic gubernatorial candidate to win during a Democratic presidency in 60 years. That same year, Democrats saw a two-point swing in our favor amidst a national average three-point swing towards Republicans.

In 2023, Wisconsin Democrats flipped control of the state Supreme Court to a new progressive majority that ended the GOP’s partisan gerrymander of the state legislature – setting the groundwork for stronger union organizing in the state.

And using new, fair maps signed by Governor Evers in 2024, Ben helped Wisconsin Democrats flip 14 state legislative seats. In a tough year for Democrats, we turned out more Democrats in rural, small-town, suburban, and urban Wisconsin and re-elected Senator Baldwin, reaching the highest turnout rate in the nation.  We are knocking on the door of winning the trifecta in 2026. Just ten years ago, this was unimaginable.

Even as we speak, Ben is working on the next race: protecting a pro-democracy, pro-freedom majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court in April, as it could decide anything from our state’s abortion ban to the fate of our maps in 2030.

Ben’s model for winning in Wisconsin is one we’ve seen firsthand and one that distinguishes him from all the other candidates. Now more than ever, we all must work together and we see this model as the path forward  for the entire nation. You have a monumental decision in front of you and we implore you to vote to make Ben Wikler our next DNC Chair.
